3 The website contains links to other organisations’ sites. Once you enter any of these sites (whether through an advertisement, service, or content link), be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage you to look for and review the privacy statements of each and every website that you visit through a link or advertisement on the website.
5 Even if you do not register, we collect non-personal information about your use of the website through cookies and web beacons.
5.2 Most computers can be set to reject all cookies – see the help section of your toolbar. If you reject our cookies, certain functions and conveniences of the website may not work properly but you do not have to accept our cookies in order to productively use the website. Additionally, we may geographically target advertising based on your IP address.
5.3 Web Beacons. We also may use web beacons or “pixels” to collect non-personal information about your use of the website. The information collected by web beacons (i) allows us to statistically monitor how many people are using the website, (ii) how many people open our emails, and (iii) why people do that. The web beacons are not used to track your activity outside of the website.
Personally Identifiable Information We Collect About You
5.4 We collect potentially personally identifiable information like your name, email address, where you are from and where you now live, you provide to us when you register on the website and/or when you update your account. We use this information in order to respond to your questions, provide you with the specific services you select and send you emails. Your information will enable us to provide you with the services on the website. We may use your personally identifiable information to contact you for your views on the website and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to it. We may contact you by post or telephone as well as by e-mail. If you change your mind about being contacted in the future, you can let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
5.5 If you sign up to receive our newsletters by email, these emails will not contain any of your personally identifiable information. You can unsubscribe from the newsletters by simply clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email newsletter
7 As a service to users of our website, we may feature links to message boards, chat rooms and other public forums where users with similar interests can share information and support one another or where users can post questions for experts to answer. Any information shared that you reveal is by design open to the public and is not a private, secure service. You should think carefully before disclosing any personally identifiable or personal health information in any public forum. What you have written may be seen, disclosed to or collected by third parties and may be used by others in ways we are unable to control or predict, including to contact you for unauthorised purposes.
8 We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our services are not designed or intended to attract children under the age of 13. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we actually know is under the age of 13.
10 As described here, in our terms and conditions, and other areas of the website, we will use non-personally identifiable information that you submit to this website to produce publications. These publications may take the form of (but are not limited to) presentations, scientific articles, books, media interviews, e-mails, and social media messages such as tweets and Facebook posts.
12 If you disclose a criminal act, such as child abuse, on our website we will attempt to contact local law enforcement authorities and provide them with the information we have available. We do not guarantee to read all survey or form responses within any particular time frame and we cannot guarantee that the contact information provided to us is accurate or sufficient to contact the member or survey respondent.
13 We will regularly anonymize and store stories, quiz responses, questionnaire responses, survey responses, and any information submitted to this website. This information may be used in publications. Members are free to delete their accounts at any point and their stories, quiz responses, questionnaire responses, survey responses, and any information submitted to this website that is stored on their profile will also be automatically deleted at that point. Please note however, that information that has already been anonymized or used in publications will not be deleted. This is because anonymous data is no longer traceable to specific members and so there is no way of identifying who provided which submission. For this reason, if you decide to create an account with 101mothers again in the future we will not be able to provide you with any submissions from your old account.
14 When you create an account through a third party such as Twitter or Facebook we do not provide them with any information about you and we only have access to your name, email address, and profile picture from them.
15 At 101mothers we are very concerned about data mining and as such we deliberately collect minimal personally identifiable information about our members. Please use your own judgement and precautions to protect the privacy of you and your family when using our website.
